About

The Lombardi Gala

The Lombardi Gala is an annual event dedicated to raising funds for cancer research for the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. This event features a cocktail reception, silent auction, awards presentation, and much more. Proceeds from the Gala directly fund world-class research leading to clinical trials and innovative new treatments that change the lives of people with cancer.

Under the Leadership of our 33rd Annual Lombardi Gala Co-Chairs, Lisa Hill & Bruce Fried, and Jerry & Catherine Castro, along with DeMaurice Smith and the NFLPA, we were able to raise over $1.4 million dollars in support of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center

Georgetown Lombardi

Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of just 50 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute and is the only one in the Washington, D.C. area.  It is named in memory of All Star Coach Vincent T. Lombardi, who was treated for cancer at Georgetown University Hospital.  Lombardi’s world-renowned research faculty are discovering cancer risk factors, designing effective prevention strategies, and learning how to detect cancers earlier. They are developing and testing the cancer treatments of tomorrow – targeted therapies that will improve both survival and quality of life – and making progress toward the ultimate goal of eradicating cancer. Washington, D.C. has one of the highest cancer mortality rates in the country, and Lombardi’s team of oncology experts is ready to help you, your colleagues, family, and friends.

We are Georgetown Lombardi and Ending Cancer Starts Here! Join us in the fight against cancer by supporting our life-saving work.
