Sherrie Beckstead

Event Co-Chair

It remains an honor to work with the team extraordinaire at Georgetown Lombardi. In every facet of  distinguished researchers, science and  patient care, Georgetown Lombardi inspires us to excellence, with the mission of finding a cure for cancer. It is with great pride that I carry out this vision in honor of my late husband, Sidney M. Beckstead.

Sherrie Beckstead is a business partner in the companies in which her late husband Sidney co-founded, Liljenquist & Beckstead and Lenkersdorfer Fine Jewelers.

Sherrie’s ownership spans their five locations in the DC Metropolitan area. In addition to her role as a partner, Sherrie led the companies in their digital launch and marketing strategies, as well as the leadership in the first universal website. Sherrie partnered with the global brand leaders of 25 luxury brands that include Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Chopard and David Yurman. Sherrie’s initiatives in facilitating excellence in leadership training, mentorship, as well as corporate and community development and education remain her focus in her businesses and in her communities.

In addition to her corporate role, Sherrie serves as the Public Relations Co- Chair, and 8 years member of the Executive Committee of the Lombardi Women event supporting breast cancer research at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC. She recently launched a brand that she designed, a cause branded jewelry line, The Lockkeepers Collection, which donates a portion of the proceeds to The Trust for the National Mall benefiting the continued preservation efforts of the monuments and national parks in our nation’s capital, where she serves on the Trust National Leadership Council. Sherrie serves as a member of the prestigious Middleburg Film Festival Board of Directors, and honorably serves on The Board of Directors of Fashion Through Diplomacy, an international non-profit, known as Fashion’s largest diplomatic community.

2024 is a year that continues to advance the ongoing mission to support students in the collegiate study of the arts, via The annual Sidney M. Beckstead Scholarship, as well as the opportunity to support Mr. Jordan Wallace, in his inaugural season representing PORSCHE. CARRERA CUP, NORTH AMERICA. Sherrie is supporting Mr. Wallace, the first elite African American Porsche driver racing for the first African American owned motorsports team.

Sherrie was honored to be one of the 8 recipients to receive the JPMorgan Chase & Co Femme Powered Woman of Excellence & Empowerment Awards in May. This is in recognition of her extraordinary leadership, historic achievements, trailblazing milestones, pioneering advocacy and visionary commitment to the community and the world.

Sherrie is an emeritus member of Atlantic General Hospital Board of Directors, serving the maximum 3 terms. St. Mary’s School Board of Directors in Annapolis, MD., again serving the maximum number of terms.
